Annabel Short has two decades of experience advocating for stronger human rights and environmental conduct by business. She has combined international work -leading regional programs with colleagues in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe –with local-level coalition-building in New York City. Annabel is currently a consultant. As a Senior Advisor on the built environment with the Institute for Human Rights and Business, she authored the report “Dignity by Design” and is leading a twin-track program of policy advocacy and practical implementation. Other recent projects have included coordinating the FORGE funders collaborative through its formative phase; facilitating a group of US workers’ rights organizations focused on global supply chains; and advising an engineering association on its social return on investment strategy.
Annabel was previously Deputy Director of ALIGN(Alliance for a Greater New York). Prior to that, she worked for 13 years with Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, building a global team working to strengthen accountability and respect for human rights.
